Meeting Your Urgent Mental Health Care Need When You Need! Just Walk in!

Meeting Your Urgent Mental Health Care Need When You Need! Just Walk in!

Do you know anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide? This tragic reality is not just a distant issue; it has surged into the spotlight in recent years. Between 2007 and 2021, suicide rates among adolescents and young adults skyrocketed by 62%. The COVID-19 pandemic only intensified this crisis, prompting many to describe youth suicide as a "secondary pandemic." Consider the Asian community: in 2022, suicide emerged as the leading cause of death among Asians aged 15 to 24, according to the CDC. Alarmingly, Asian Americans often underutilize mental health services. While statistics indicate that one in six Asian Americans is likely to experience psychiatric disorders in their lifetime, they are three times less likely to seek the support they need compared to their non- Asian peers. What’s behind this disparity? The FCC is passionately committed to addressing this pressing issue by fostering a culturally responsive mental health care system. Our initiative, the FCC Walk-In Clinic (FCC-WIC), aims to provide accessible, effective, and culturally sensitive mental health support for those in need. Together, we can make a difference and save lives.
