The senior population in the U.S. is on track to surge by over 47%, skyrocketing from 55 million in 2022 to an astonishing 83 million by 2050. Within this growing demographic, the proportion of Korean seniors aged 65 and older is poised to increase dramatically from 17% to 23%. Over the past decade, we have witnessed a remarkable 69% increase in Korean seniors in the U.S., illustrating the profound demographic shifts taking place in our nation. Alarmingly, 73% of these older adults struggle with limited English proficiency, and 39% live in low-income households. In response to these pressing challenges, the FCC is dedicated to enhancing well-being, strengthening family connections, and fostering a sense of community belonging among Korean American seniors through vital programs like the K-Care Line. Together, we can ensure that our seniors receive the support they need and deserve.
