Educational therapy services help students remediate specific skill deficits that may be contributing to school challenges.
By facilitating the development of these slowly emerging skills through our unique strength and relationship-based remediation, we help students realize their potential for school success.
Our team provides highly individualized instruction that addresses a variety of learning and behavioral issues including dyslexia, autism, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, reading and writing disabilities, and processing disorders.
Art therapy is an intervention that uses creative art activities that surpass language barriers to help children understand their inner selves as well as find security.
Art therapy is not only used for children in general, but also for children experiencing depression, ADHD, and developmental disabilities.
Play therapy is a systematic approach that uses a theoretical model that allows children to develop an interpersonal process.
Therapeutic play provides clients with grown and development.
We also provide play therapy for children who are experiencing emotional difficulties and/or behavioral adjustment issues.
ADHD Coaching can assist students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), attention deficit disorder (ADD), and executive functioning disorders (EFD), however a formal diagnosis is not required to utilize this service.
Certified Parenting Education Class
FCCGW offers parenting education classes for self-referred clients as well as those who received referrals from the Virginia Circuit Court and Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court.
The program focuses on suitable ways to raise children, effective communication skills, and other necessary parenting skills that are efficient and successful in raising children.
The counselors also provide parenting education at local schools, churches, and community centers to help improve parenting skills
and parent-child dynamics that support healthy child development.
Our trained counselors specialize in helping couples and families with issues in personal conflicts, poor communication, difficult children, affairs, parenting, and many others in either Korean or in English. Imago relationship therapy, developed by Dr. Harville Hendrix and his wife Helen LaKelly Hunt, is provided by a trained therapist to focus on each couple’s unique style of communication and gives them long-term skills to sustain their relationship in any situation.
